At Parallel Eyewear, we believe it is not just okay to see the world differently. It is what makes life exciting. Our lenses sharpen your vision, but our mission is to sharpen perspectives.
David Wetherelt
CEO and Chief Troublemaker (the good kind)
David is not your typical CEO. A late-diagnosed Autistic and ADHD entrepreneur, he has turned a lifetime of being labeled “trouble” into a badge of honor. Today, he proudly calls himself a Good Troublemaker. Someone who challenges old systems, questions stale assumptions, and fights for inclusivity while building things that matter.
As founder of Like Minds Alliance, David has spent years advocating for neurodivergent individuals, creating community projects, and championing the idea that different brains make the world brighter. Now he leads Parallel with that same spirit, fusing innovation in eyewear with a mission of social good. Every pair of glasses helps fund peer coaching, advocacy, and wellness programs for neurodivergent people. That is not just good business. That is good trouble.
David Johnson
Chairman Emeritus, Advisor and Dear Friend
Parallel Eyewear would not exist without David Johnson. Our beloved founder and the mind behind Microvision Optical’s legendary folding readers, David’s designs have graced Oprah’s Favorite Things and brought clarity to millions. His pioneering Neox lens technology, crafted over decades of optical research, remains the foundation of everything we do.
These days, David is stepping back just enough to enjoy more golf, more travel, and more adventures with his spectacular family, all Good Troublemakers in their own right. But he is still very much part of our story, guiding us as Chairman Emeritus, trusted advisor, and cherished friend. David is also a board member for Like Minds Alliance.
Our Purpose
Parallel Eyewear is more than sunglasses and readers. We are a movement to:
-
Deliver world-class vision with Neox technology
-
Keep eyewear stylish, eco-friendly, and affordable
-
Fund programs that support and celebrate neurodivergent individuals
-
Prove that business can be bold, rebellious, and good all at once
We make eyewear. We make statements. We make good trouble.
When you put on a pair of Parallel glasses, you are not just seeing the world differently. You are helping change it.
